    The Leavitt E. Magrath Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) is owned by the Town of Hampton and is operated by the Public Works Department. It is a Grade IV secondary treatment, activated sludge facility. Located on Hardardt's Way, behind the closed landfill, the WWTP presently treats the domestic and industrial wastes from Hampton and Rye. It also accepts septage waste from the local area.

    Septage Disposal     

    The fees for disposal of septic tank sludge and/or wastewater are as follows:

           Zero to 1,000 gallons.

                  Resident: $35.00

                  Nonresident: $55.00

    Disposal of sludge from campers, recreational vehicles, and carpet cleaning services with a    maximum capacity of less than 150 gallons:

                  Resident: $3.00

                  Nonresident: $4.50
