Hampton Open Space Committee

 Mission Statement

It is the mission of this committee to conserve and acquire open space lands, forested lands, freshwater wetlands, tidal marshlands and farmlands in Hampton thus ensuring their protection through good stewardship and land conservation.  The intended use of such lands includes: passive recreation, common space, woodland, farmland and preservation lands. 

 Function

The Open Space Committee is responsible for advising other committees and boards on conscientious development, with regard for conservation and environmental   awareness.  It is also the purpose of this committee to, through educational outreach, encourage participation in the voluntary acquisition and protection of open spaces. 

 Affiliation

                The Open Space Committee is a subcommittee of the Hampton Conservation Commission.
